Salary - Competitive salary circa OTE £150,000 per annum
The Opportunity
ILX Group is seeking a dynamic and strategic Sales Director to lead the growth of our StayAhead Training (SAT) and TSG Training portfolios. This is a high-impact, commercially focused role that offers the chance to shape the future of two respected brands in the learning and development space.
You’ll be responsible for driving strong, sustained growth across both portfolios by evolving our sales strategy, leading a high-performing sales team, and developing long-term client partnerships. This is a strategic role that also sits on the ILX Senior Leadership Team, where you’ll work alongside the Group Sales Director to shape commercial priorities and business planning at the highest level. About You
You are an experienced sales leader with a proven ability to deliver growth in a professional services or learning environment. You combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, and you understand how to build and lead successful sales teams. You will have experience in identifying and nurturing new complex accounts while building long-term, high-value partnerships. Your commercial instincts are sharp, and you know how to design and execute sales strategies that drive both revenue and profit. You’re also a strong communicator, confident in influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders. Your leadership style is collaborative and empowering, and you have a passion for developing your team and delivering a great client experience. Knowledge of accredited learning, technical training, or digital learning solutions will be particularly valuable in this role. A deep understanding of accredited learning programs, technical training, and digital learning solutions, including areas like AI, Data Science, Cyber Security, and DevOps will be crucial as well as ISTQB Software Testing, and Databases such as SQL, Oracle, Operating Systems: Lynx, Unix and Web development programming languages such as Java, Python.
What will you be doing?
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the sales strategy and performance across SAT and TSG, two key parts of ILX Group’s offering. You will own and evolve the commercial approach to meet and exceed your revenue targets. This includes direct line management of both sales teams, overseeing recruitment, performance, and development to ensure consistent high performance. You’ll also take a leading role in managing and growing strategic client accounts, using your industry experience and network to secure new high-value clients.
As a senior member of the ILX Group’s leadership team, you’ll contribute to company-wide strategy, working closely with peers and the Sales Director to align plans across the business. You'll be responsible for ensuring sales systems and tools are used effectively – particularly Salesforce – to support lead generation, pipeline tracking, and accurate forecasting. In addition, you’ll work to position ILX, StayAhead, and TSG as complementary brands that enable effective cross-selling and shared success across the wider portfolio. You will also play an important role in supporting the integration of StayAhead’s operating model, including the adoption of new systems and the rollout of a new website. You’ll represent ILX at industry events and client presentations, positioning yourself and the business as trusted and credible leaders in the learning space.
