About the course

This three-day virtual classroom course helps prepare you for Earned Value Management Practitioner examination. This qualification has been designed to confirm whether an individual has achieved sufficient understanding of the theory and application of Earned Value Management to allow them to work successfully in an Earned Value Management environment. 

What is virtual classroom training?

Duration

This is an intensive three-day course that helps prepare you for the Earned Value Practitioner examination. The training is conducted via a virtual training environment. You need to ensure that you can satisfy the technical requirements that can be found on our website here.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • Establish a performance measurement baseline for a project
  • Design and evaluate earned value data collection processes for a specific project
  • Interpret earned value data for a given scenario and make recommendations on appropriate action
  • Manage changes to a performance measurement baseline appropriately
  • Allow for risk in the planning, execution, and evaluation of an earned value project
  • Apply methods to review the integrity, validity, and performance of an earned value management system

This is a three-day course that includes:

  • All accompanying course material (digital)
  • The cost of the Earned Value Practitioner examination (valid for 12 months from purchase date. Exams must be taken online via remote proctor)

Important: Please note you will require a copy of the EVM handbook for the course and exam. This is not included in the purchase price. Should you wish to purchase the manual you can add it to your shopping cart once you have selected your chosen date.

Materials

Digital ILX course materials: These will be accessible via the ILX portal. Full instructions with a link to the portal will be issued at point of purchase. The course materials will be provided in a PDF format and available for download. 

Exams are taken online via remote proctor. Two weeks prior to course commencement ILX will arrange for an exam voucher to be issued. You will then be able to book a suitable time after your virtual classroom event has finished to undertake your exam.

Note: You are responsible for booking your own exam(s). 

Exam format

The format of the Practitioner exam is as follows:

  • Objective testing
  • 4 questions per paper, 20 marks available per question
  • 40 marks or more required to pass (out of 80 available) - 50%
  • Three hours duration
  • Open book (Earned Value Management Handbook)
  • Calculators allowed

This qualification is aimed at individuals who have worked and are working in an Earned Value Management environment for a period of two years. This audience will include a wide range of people working on earned value-based projects including:

  • Project Managers
  • Control Account Managers
  • Project planners
  • Project analysts

In order to sit the Practitioner exam, you must have passed the Earned Value Foundation examination.
