Accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM), this course will lead to an internationally recognised qualification. The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification provides the foundation for further training and qualifications in the expanding project management field. Duration

Please be advised that the APM recommends approximately 34 hours preparation time for the PFQ examination. You must:

  • Complete all provided online pre-course expected to take five hours (Directed Development)
  • Attend a two-day virtual classroom course (Guided Learning)
  • Complete 13.5 hours of additional learning resources to help support exam preparation (Directed Development)

All learning must be completed prior to taking the exam.

The workshop is conducted via a virtual training environment. You need to ensure that you can satisfy the technical requirements that can be found on our website here.

Exams are taken online via remote proctor. Two working days prior to course commencement ILX will arrange for an exam voucher to be issued. You will then be able to book a suitable time after your classroom event has finished to undertake your exam.

  • Multiple choice
  • 60 questions
  • 60% pass mark (36/60)

This qualification is designed for those with little or no project management experience who are looking to start a successful project management career or wanting to understand the principles of project management excellence. Successful candidates will be able to understand the language of project management and the structure of a successful project. They will be able to take an active part in a project team and make a positive contribution to any project environment.

Pre-course

There is mandatory online pre-course work that must be undertaken prior to attending this course. It is expected that it will take approximately five hours to complete. You will be sent full instructions with a link to the online pre course within 48 hours of your confirmed booking.

In addition, whilst attending your course there will also be some examination preparation evening work.
