The ILX Scrum Master course provides a deeper understanding of the Scrum framework and how it is applied. The course aims to provide a solid foundation in Scrum, its core principles and how best to apply it. The ILX approach to Scrum training utilises group discussions, combined with practical training to help build knowledge of Scrum. The ILX Scrum Master course will help you to prepare for Scrum.org Professional Scrum Master® I (PSM I®) exam.

Scrum is a framework to help product development teams be effective at delivering value in a complex environment. It focuses on incremental, iterative product development and delivery. It builds on empirical process control, in which transparency enables inspection and adaptation.

The training is aimed at those who have some Scrum experience and want to gain a deeper understanding of the framework and its application. ILX Scrum Master training supports a variety of roles, including:

  • Those involved in a Scrum project or Scrum initiatives within their organisation

Learning objectives

The theory of the Scrum framework will be used for the ILX Scrum Master training. Upon completion of the training you will:

  • Have a deep understanding what Scrum is, where it should be used, how it works and why it works
  • Understand the servant leadership and know how you can act as Scrum Master to your team and stakeholders
  • Understand how Scrum can improve the effectiveness of Scrum at your organization
  • Understand how to facilitate various Scrum events
  • To define roles and responsibilities in Scrum and determine how to apply these to your organization

Important note regarding pre-course

There is mandatory online pre-course work that must be undertaken prior to attending this course.You will be sent full instructions with a link to the online pre course within 48 hours of your confirmed booking. In addition, whilst attending your course there will also be some examination preparation evening work.

Exam information

The exam is taken after the classroom event at a date and time of your choice. ILX will issue their own voucher and when you wish to book your exam you will need to email contactus@ilxgroup.com. We will then issue you with a live exam code and instructions on how to take your exam via the Scrum.Org website.
