About the course

The ILX Modelling Business Processes three day virtual course is for anybody requiring an understanding of Modelling Business Processes and focuses on the investigation, modelling, analysis and improvement of business processes.

This course prepares you for the BCS Modelling Business Processes examination which is one of the four modules required to gain the International Diploma in Business Analysis.

Duration

This is an intensive three-day course that prepares you for the BCS Modelling Business Processes examination. The training is conducted via a virtual training environment. You need to ensure that you can satisfy the technical requirements that can be found on our website here.

By the end of this course you should be able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and application of Modelling Business Processes principles and techniques in the following areas:

  • The role of business process modelling in describing how an organisation carries out its internal processes; the hierarchy of process models and techniques to describe them; and why this is a key skill of the business analyst in supporting change
  • Modelling core business processes at an organisational level
  • Modelling business processes at the process level, showing all the elements involved from triggering events to process endpoints
  • Documenting and analysing tasks
  • The use of gap analysis in improving business processes

This course covers the following modules:

  • The context for business process modelling
  • Organisational model of Processes
  • Modelling the business process
  • Documenting tasks
  • Evaluating and improving business processes

This is an intensive three-day virtual course, which includes the following:

  • All accompanying course material
  • Business Analysis Practice examination (must be taken online via remote proctor within 12 months of purchase)
  • Business Analysis handbook

HOW YOU TAKE YOUR EXAM

The exam is taken online via remote proctor. Two weeks prior to course commencement ILX will arrange for an exam voucher to be issued. You then have a choice you can either:

  • Book a suitable time after your virtual classroom event has finished to undertake your exam

OR

  • We currently allocate exam time within the virtual classroom event. So that you can book directly, we will advise you of recommended exam timings as part of the candidate guidance — this is issued three weeks prior to course commencement

Note: You are responsible for booking your own exam.

Exam format

The format for the examination is:

  • 60-minute duration
  • Multiple-choice examination
  • Closed book
  • Pass mark is 25/40

This course will appeal to anyone who requires an understanding of business processes, including

There are no formal prerequisites for attending this course or taking the exam however you should have some practical experience of business analysis.
