We have a new opportunity for a Product Developer to join our team based in Nantwich, Cheshire. The successful candidate will combine creative and technical skills to create, maintain and deliver effective learning solutions by working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers.

Role overview

This is a hands-on role requiring the successful candidate to have a strong understanding of the technical requirements, system configuration and user requirements across all our products and solutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate success in the role by balancing the management of suppliers and contractors with their own personal objectives to deliver projects on time and to budget.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with and supporting the existing team on development projects
  • Maintenance of existing e-learning courses, learning management system and instructor-led materials
  • Assisting project management of new product developments
  • Supporting and liaising with subject matter experts in the design process
  • Reviewing and testing content
  • Liaising with clients and providing technical support
  • Staying current with latest learning theories, instructional design approaches and technologies
  • Undertake other tasks and duties as required

Role Typical interaction
Product Development Manager Setting objectives, product development plans and ongoing improvement projects. Scoping requirements and associated project plans.
Best Practice Manager Providing support in the development of business cases for new product developments. Capturing and actioning product updates as required.
Sales Day-to-day user support, supporting the sales teams in creating world-leading customer focused design solutions. Being a champion for best practice instructional design.
Third-party suppliers Specifying and documenting new requirements, managing partners' delivery to project timelines and budgets.
Customers Providing first-line support

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have a background in or experience of e-learning development, along with some project management experience. Specific experience in e-learning, mobile development, HTML5, along with off-the-shelf authoring tools such as Adobe Flash/Animate and Articulate Storyline. Familiarity with LMS management and integration would be a particular advantage.

Essential skills:

  • Experience working in a project environment where focus is in delivering to schedule, budget and to a high quality
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with people at all levels
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

Desirable skills/experiences

  • Familiar with e-learning best practices
  • Create flair and an interest in e-learning and associated technologies
  • Experience with development for mobile platforms including HTML5 desirable
  • Knowledge of learning theories and current e-learning development approaches
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering high quality, creative e-learning solutions
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Flexible team-focused approach
