Finance Director

POSITION: FINANCE DIRECTOR

ILX Group is a market leader in PRINCE2 training and has provided best practice learning to more than 250,000 people across 5,000 organisations in over 100 countries. We have offices in the UK, Australia and the Middle East.

We are currently looking for a Finance Director, who will act as the key support to the MD, assisting in developing company strategy, managing finance operations as well delivering strategy for growth. With a view to expand internationally with bases in the UK and a satellite in the Middle East, you will help develop the infrastructure necessary to achieve this while ensuring robust controls and operations are maintained within the UK.


Key responsibilities:

  • Managing and preparing the production of the month end management accounts pack with full commentary
  • Management of the day to day cash flow reporting and working capital requirements, including overseas cash
  • Lead all process improvement of the current financial controls
  • Manage the monthly KPI reporting to produce effective reporting for the senior team to manage the business
  • Manage the day to day requirements of product pricing
  • Day to day management of the finance team of 5, ensuring it maintains the highest standards of integrity, accounting, financial control and management, and to be the conscience of the division
  • Ensure timely and accurate information for business and Group requirements, including Budgets/Forecasts and Actual results, closing the month end and preparing for the annual audit
  • Producing business plans, investment cases, financial modelling and KPI monitoring,
  • Having a key influence on business-critical decision shaping and implementing new processes and systems where necessary

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will be technically strong and one who is comfortable taking a hands on approach. As the business develops and processes are refined, they will be become more heavily involved in strategic thinking so a commercial mind-set and appetite for change is essential. He or she will be a professionally qualified accountant with strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and peers. Experience within the training/consulting sector would be a benefit, but is not essential – attitude is more important than history.
