Project Management Professional (PMP) is an industry-recognised and in-demand certification for project managers from the Project Management Institute (PMI). A PMP qualification demonstrates that you have the experience, education and competency to successfully lead and direct projects.

Please note: This PMP eLearning aligns with the current PMP exam content (January 2021). If you are planning to take the exam, we recommend completing your learning and taking the exam before the 8th July 2026; otherwise, you will need to study the new version of our eLearning, which is due for release at the beginning of July.

Exam information

230 minutes, multiple choice, 180 questions (5 of which are pre-test questions). The exam is not included with this course and is only available to purchase through the PMI.

How do I book my Project Management Professional (PMP) exam?

The PMP exam is not included with this course.

You need to apply for the exam on the PMI website and meet a series of criteria (listed in the prerequisites) before you qualify to take the exam.

How do I access my PMP pre-course work?

There is mandatory online pre-course work for those opting to take our classroom course. The materials are expected to take approximately four to six hours to complete. You’ll be sent full instructions with a link to the online pre-course within 48 hours of booking your place on the course.

You must complete all pre-course work to achieve your completion certificate at the end of your course.

What are the prerequisites for the Project Management Professional (PMP) course?

To be eligible for the PMP certification, you must have a:

A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree, or the global equivalent)
Minimum five years professional project management experience during which at least 7,500 hours were spent leading or directing the project*
35 hours of project management education or CAPM certification

OR

Four-year degree
Minimum three years professional project management experience during which at least 4,500 hours were spent leading and directing the project*
35 hours of project management education or CAPM certification
