About the course

The Praxis Framework™ is a combination of four types of best practice guidance; Knowledge, Method, Competency and Capability and is the first free framework to integrate projects, programmes and portfolios in a single guide. Praxis Foundation equips you with an understanding of project and programme functions and the processes and documentation used to manage lifecycle phases. It will enable you to work effectively as part of any project or programme management team. The purpose of the Practitioner qualification is to confirm whether the candidate has achieved sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor Praxis in a scenario situation.

Pre-requisites

There are no formal pre-requisites required to attend this course.

Learning objectives

By the end of this course you will:

  • Understand the characteristics and context of a project and a programme and the benefits of effective P3 management
  • Understand the purpose of the Praxis framework, the P3 roles, documents and functions, and their use in the Praxis process models
  • Recognise and understand the goals and activities within the Praxis process models and how they interface
  • Understand the importance and goals of interpersonal skills in the P3 environment, and their recognised models
  • Be able to apply the roles, functions, techniques and processes to a P3 scenario
  • Be able to create and assess P3 documents for a given scenario
  • Understand the relationships between the roles, documents, functions, techniques and processes

  • All accompanying course material
  • The official Praxis Framework handbook
  • The cost of the Praxis Framework Foundation and Practitioner examination

Pre-course

There is mandatory pre-course work that must be undertaken prior to attending this course. It is expected that it will take a minimum of six hours to complete. You will be sent full instructions with your joining instructions approximately three weeks prior to the event. In addition, whilst attending the course there will also be some exam preparation evening work.

Foundation

  • 75 simple multiple-choice questions
  • 60 minutes duration
  • Closed book
  • 50% pass mark (38 marks out of 75)

Practitioner

  • Complex multiple-choice questions
  • 2 ½ hours duration
  • Open book (only the Praxis Framework can be referred to)
  • 50% pass mark (40 marks out of 80)
