APM Project Fundamentals Qualification formerly known as APM Introductory Certificate in Project Management
An entry-level qualification offering insight into the discipline of project management, and recognition of candidates' understanding of the key principles involved.
You will learn fundamental project management skills, such as:

· Quality management
· Resource management
· Risk management
Successful candidates will be able to understand the language of project management and the structure of a successful project. They will be able to take an active part in a project team and make a positive contribution to any project environment.
The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification Suits:
· Those who are new to a project management role
· Anyone who requires a basic introduction to project management
· Project managers who have not had any formal training
There are no prerequisites for the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification.
The exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions. You have 1 hour to complete the exam.
APM Project Management Qualification formerly known as APMP (IPMA Level D)
This is the benchmark qualification for anyone looking to add project management to their portfolio of skills. This qualification recognises both nationally and internationally that successful candidates can carry from one job to another or from one industry to another.
This qualification allows candidates to demonstrate knowledge of all elements of project management in order to assist in the management of projects.
Project Managers with the APM Project Management qualification will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how these elements interact. They will also be able to understand how their project fits into their strategic and commercial environment.
The APM Project Management qualification assesses the candidate's breadth of knowledge in all areas of project management, from strategic and commercial implications, to the technical, organisational, and people management skills required to participate effectively within a project team.
This qualification is for project managers, project coordinators and team leaders who typically have at least 3-years' experience in managing non-complex projects.
The APM Project Management Qualification Suits:
Anyone who has worked within project management for up to two years, such as project office personnel, team members, or recently appointed project officers, or for anyone who has recently taken on project management responsibilities as part of their job.
The APM Project Management qualification is the benchmark for anyone embarking on a project management career, or looking to add project management to their portfolio of skills.
The APM Project Management Qualification Course Prerequisites
There are no formal pre-requisites for the APM Project Management qualification but delegates would benefit from having a minimum of two years relevant practical experience of Project Management.
APM Project Management Exam Format
The APM Project Management examination is an essay style paper and is three hours long.
APM Practitioner (IPMA Level C)
The APM Practitioner qualification is designed for project managers wishing to have their project manager capabilities recognised by a formal qualification.
The APM Practitioner qualification assesses a candidate's ability to apply project management skills and techniques to a non-complex project, or to assist in a more complex project.
Candidates will be assessed against all areas of the APM Body of knowledge.
Desired behavioural characteristics of a project manager are also assessed, such as:
· Open, positive attitude
· Common sense
· Prudent risk taker
· Open mindedness
The APM Practitioner Qualification Suits:
The APM Practitioner qualification is for project managers, project co-ordinators and team leaders who have three to five years experience in managing noncomplex projects. Designed for project managers wishing to have their capability as a project manager recognised by a formal qualification.
APM Practitioner Requirements
Delegates must have three to five years experience in responsible leadership functions of non- complex projects. This may well be as a team leader of part of a larger project.
Delegates must also satisfy one of the following criteria for project management knowledge:
· Passed the APM Project Management qualification or:
· Can demonstrate good familiarity with the APM BoK and have passed an equivalent qualification, such as PMP, ISEB Certificate in Project Management, Open University Project Management Module M865 or have a good foundation knowledge of project management.
APM Practitioner Assessment Format
Candidates will attend an Assessment Centre over a period of two days for assessment. The assessment will focus on:
Candidates will provide written answers to questions based upon the given case study and will also provide written answers to a question about current issues in project management.
Group work (observed)
Candidates will carry out group exercises in order to discuss and solve problems relating to the case study.
All candidates will undergo an individual interview held by their assessors.
