About the course

In order to obtain the strategic leader designation you must complete all modules in the stream.

The ILX ITIL 4 Strategic Leader bundle provides you with access to all the required elearning courses:

  • ITIL 4 Digital and IT Strategy

The ITIL 4 Foundation course provides you with an extensive introduction to the core concepts of ITIL 4. It helps your understanding of the ITIL 4 principles and demonstrates how it can improve an individual’s work and the work of the organisation.

The ITIL 4 Direct Plan and Improve qualification provides you with the practical skills necessary to create a ‘learning and improving’ IT organization, with a strong and effective strategic direction.  It teaches you a practical and strategic method for planning and delivering continual improvement with the necessary agility.

The ITIL4 ITIL 4 Digital and IT Strategy (DITS) module focuses on the importance and challenges of creating an appropriate digital strategy to enable the success of businesses and how it can be integrated to the IT strategy and aligned with the wider organization’s goals.

Duration

ITIL4 Foundation learning will take approximately 10-12 hours to complete.

ITIL 4 Direct, Plan and Improve will take approximately 12-14 hours to complete.

ITIL 4 Digital and IT Strategy will take approximately 25-30 hours to complete.

At the end of the Foundation course, you will:

Digital official manual: You will be sent an email invitation within 48 hours of your purchase to register on the Peoplecert portal. Once registered you will be able to access the digital version of your manual. Please note: There is a 5-year limitation in accessing your eBook.

Hardcopy official manual: If you decide to purchase the hardcopy official manual as an optional extra your manual will be shipped to your chosen address within 48 hours of purchase.

Exams are taken online via remote proctor. You will be sent an email invitation within 48 hours of your purchase to register on the Peoplecert portal. Once registered you will be able to book your online exams at a date and time of your choice. You are responsible for booking your own exams. Recertification: This certification has a renew within three years of the award date to remain current. There are multiple ways to recertify, more information regarding the options can be found here.

Exam format

ITIL 4 Foundation

  • Multiple choice exam
  • Closed book
  • 60 minutes duration
  • 40 questions each worth 1 mark
  • Pass mark 65% or higher (26 marks or above)

ITIL 4 Direct, Plan and Improve

  • 90-minute duration
  • Closed book
  • 40 questions
  • Pass mark is 70% or higher – a raw score of 28 marks or above

ITIL 4 Digital & IT Strategy, consists of a two-phased assessment approach:

  • Practical assessments: You will be prompted throughout different phases of your learning to submit completed assessments to ILX for review by an SME. You will be provided with a case study and all relevant material within the learning course.
  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): Upon completion of the course and passing the practical assignments followed by the exam. The exam is taken online via remote proctor in the following format:
    • 60-minute duration
    • 70% pass mark (21/30)
    • Closed book

There are no formal pre-requisites for the ITIL 4 Foundation.

For the DPI exam

  • You must hold the ITIL 4 Foundation qualification
  • You must complete accredited training 

For the DITS exam:        

  • You must complete accredited training.
  • You must hold the ITIL 4 Foundation qualification
  • You must supply evidence confirming a minimum of three years of IT managerial experience.
