FAQs
What is the difference between PMP and PRINCE2®?
PMP and PRINCE2® are both certifications aimed to enhance project management skills and knowledge, but their approaches differ slightly.
Created by the Project Management Institute (PMI), PMP offers a broad spectrum of project management knowledge and skills that are applicable to different types of projects and industries. It is a versatile approach that focuses heavily on practical application.
Alternatively, PRINCE2 is a process-driven project management methodology which provides step-by-step guidance for managing projects from initiation to closure. As such, it is better suited to highly structured environments.
Both entry level and experienced project managers would benefit from a PRINCE2 certification, whereas the PMP course and exam requires a certain level of project management experience.
