What you'll learn

ITIL (Version 5) places a strong focus on digital product and service management. During training, you’ll explore how value is co-created through effective service relationships, gain clarity on essential terminology, and learn how activities in the service lifecycle work together to create and sustain value.

Key terminology

Strengthen your understanding of the new terminology introduced in Version 5, ensuring you can use this language accurately and confidently. This includes clearly defining terms such as digital product and service, utility, warranty, sustainability, service offering, transfer of goods, and more. By mastering this shared vocabulary, you will be able to interpret the framework correctly and apply its principles consistently in practice.Ā

The four dimensions of product and service management

You will examine the four dimensions: organisations and people, information and technology, partners and suppliers, and value streams and processes. Each dimension highlights a critical aspect of performance. Understanding how they interconnect will ensure you don’t view change in isolation and instead consider how one area influences the others. This knowledge will help you implement coordinated, sustainable improvements across your organisation.Ā

The product and service lifecycle

Discover the eight activities included in the product and service lifecycle: discover, design, acquire, build, transition, operate, deliver, and support. The course explains how these stages guide products and services from initial concept through to live operation and continual improvement. You’ll explore how the lifecycle connects to the value chain and enables organisations to maintain service performance.Ā

The ITIL value system

You’ll develop an understanding of how the ITIL value system provides the overarching structure that connects governance, guiding principles, practices, and continual improvement. This system ensures that all organisational components work together to convert opportunity and demand into measurable value.Ā

ITIL and AI

Examine how ITIL (Version 5) reflects modern technological development, including the use of automation and artificial intelligence. The course explains how AI can support service management activities such as monitoring, analysis, optimisation, and prediction. You will also consider the importance of governance and responsible oversight when integrating this technology into service environments.Ā
