About the course

The 'Planning, Scheduling, Monitoring and Control – The Practical Project Management of Time, Cost, and Risk.' guide offers invaluable insights and best practices for project planning and control, making it relevant to a wide array of industries and sectors. The Foundation-level learning will evaluates your grasp of this guidance, enabling you to effectively contribute to a project support office or project planning and control team. By the end of the Practitioner level you will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the theory and practical application of tools and techniques, thereby equipping them to excel in a Project Support team environment.

Duration

It is expected to take approximately 31 hours to complete this learning.

Pre-requisites

There are no formal pre-requisites for taking the Foundation exam however it is recommended that a Practitioner candidate has a minimum of three years’ experience in a planning and monitoring role. In addition, you must have passed the PPC Foundation exam prior to undertaking the Practitioner examination.

By the end of this learning you should be able to understand , interpret and assess the following:

  • The selection and use of appropriate scheduling techniques
  • The practices used for rigorous monitoring to enable proactive control of the project

  • The scheduling techniques and appropriate presentation of the outputs
  • The management of risk in the planning, execution and evaluation of a project
  • The practices and data used for rigorous monitoring to enable proactive control of the project.

Foundation

  • Multiple choice
  • 50 questions per paper
  • 25 marks required to pass (out of 50 available) – 50%
  • 40 minutes duration
  • Closed-book

Practitioner

  • Complex multiple choice
  • 8 question paper with 10 marks available per question
  • 40 marks required to pass (out of 80 available) – 50%
  • 3-hour duration
  • Open-book (Project Planning & Control guide only)
