Throughout EA Learning’s course, students also work in cohorts on a case study (Learning Studies) to begin to learn how to apply TOGAF® EA concepts in real-world situations. EA Learning’s presenters, who are themselves highly experienced practitioners, add valuable insights during these exercises and can pass-on their practical wisdom. Upon passing their exams and receiving their TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Foundation and TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner certifications, EA Learning’s students are eligible to be awarded an Applied TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner badge Issued by The Open Group.

EA Learning’s intensive program combines the competencies of TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Foundation with the TOGAF® Enterprise Architect Practitioner. Whilst working towards becoming TOGAF® Standard, 10th Edition certified, this course will provide you with clear guidance on how to develop transformative enterprise architecture.

This is an intensive four-day course.

Attendees of EA Learning’s TOGAF® EA - Foundation and Practitioner course will be equipped with the knowledge to become certified for both:

  • TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Foundation
  • TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner

The TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Foundation certification provides validation that an individual has the basic knowledge and understanding of the Enterprise Architecture using the TOGAF® approach, sufficient to be able to contribute to an architecture project or work with the results. The learning objectives at this level focus on knowledge and comprehension. Certified individuals will have the following competencies:

  • A common language with TOGAF® practitioners
  • A basic understanding of the TOGAF® approach for Enterprise Architecture, including Agile delivery and application in a Digital enterprise
  • The prerequisite qualification for becoming a TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner

The TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner certification provides validation that an individual has the knowledge, comprehension, and ability to analyse and apply the TOGAF® Standard to developing, sustaining, and using an Enterprise Architecture. The learning objectives at this level focus on application and analysis in addition to knowledge and comprehension. Certified individuals will have the following competencies:

  • Know how to apply the TOGAF® approach to transform and manage change
  • Know how to apply the TOGAF® method
  • Know how to apply TOGAF® techniques.

Following the TOGAF® curriculum, the first part of the course (TOGAF® EA - Foundation), teaches you the fundamental building blocks. This gives you sufficient knowledge and understanding to contribute to an architectural project and work with the results. You will learn:

  • The concepts of Enterprise Architecture and the TOGAF® Standard, 10th Edition
  • The common language the TOGAF® Standard provides for EA Professionals around the world
  • The Architecture Development Method (ADM) a step-by-step guide of the phases needed to develop or change an enterprise architecture
  • The techniques available to support application of the ADM
  • About applying the ADM, including use of iteration, partitioning, and application in a Digital enterprise
  • How Architecture Governance contributes to architecture development
  • About Architecture content — the outputs produced while executing the ADM

The second part of the course (TOGAF® EA - Practitioner) covers knowledge and comprehension, and teaches the ability to analyse and apply the TOGAF® Standard for developing, sustaining, and using an Enterprise Architecture, including:

  • The context within which an Enterprise Architecture practitioner must operate
  • How to apply the stakeholder management technique
  • How to implement the Architecture Vision phase including its applicable techniques – (Phase A)
  • How to implement the ADM Phases:
    • Business Architecture (Phase B)
    • Information Systems Architecture (Phase C)
    • Technology Architecture (Phase D)
    • Opportunities & Solutions (Phase E)
    • Migration Planning (Phase F)]
    • Implementation Governance (Phase G)
    • How to implement Architecture Change Management (Phase H)
  • How to manage architecture requirements, which is at the centre of all phases
  • How to use The Open Group Library
  • How to support the ADM work with applicable techniques
  • Using architecture levels to organize the Architecture Landscape
  • The Architecture Content Framework.

Attendees of EA Learning’s four-day TOGAF® EA - Foundation and Practitioner course will be equipped with the knowledge to become certified for both:

The TOGAF® certification program is knowledge-based. The TOGAF® certification program is a market-driven education and certification program that ensures individuals have knowledge and understanding of the TOGAF® Body of Knowledge.

At the end of the training, you will be prepared to sit your certification exams. When you are ready, simply contact EA Learning’s support to request your exam vouchers. Exam voucher requests are typically processed within two working days but please allow up to five. You can then make appointments for your exams with Pearson VUE. The exam vouchers are valid for 12 months.

The Open Group Certified: Applied TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner badge

Individuals who have satisfactorily completed the TOGAF® EA - Foundation and Practitioner course with EA Learning and passed both exams, are eligible for The Open Group Certified: Applied TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner badge Issued by The Open Group. Upon passing your exams, simply contact EA Learning support providing your Candidate ID. EA Learning will then submit your candidate ID to The Open Group for badge issuance. Please allow up to 5 business days for processing.

The Open Group publishes the definitive directory of certified individuals, and issues certificates and Open Badges. The duration of certification is indefinite – certification is to a given version of the Body of Knowledge and does not expire, so there are no re-certification or renewal requirements.

Exam format

Certification is only achieved by passing the examination at your home or in your office using Pearson VUE OnVUE delivery or at a Pearson VUE test center.

  • To become certified for TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Foundation attendees must pass the TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Part 1 exam. This is a multiple-choice examination consisting of 40 questions to be answered within 60 minutes. The Pass Mark is 24/40 (60%). It is a supervised, closed book exam.
  • To become certified for TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner attendees must pass the TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Part 2 exam. This is a complex multiple-choice scenario-based examination consisting of 8 questions to be answered within 90 minutes. The Pass Mark is 24/40 (60%). It is a supervised, open book exam.

Knowledge of TOGAF® is highly useful to anybody involved in business transformation and capability improvement, including Enterprise, Business and IT Architects, Business and Systems Analysts, as well as Business Executives and Managers, Program, Project and Change Managers, and Subject Matter Experts.

This training course is for anybody involved in the development and application of architecture including:

  • Individuals expected to apply the TOGAF® approach to develop, sustain, and transform domain architectures
  • Individuals actively leading or contributing to organisational transformation
  •  Individuals working in Agile environments who need to understand and apply Enterprise Architecture using the TOGAF® Standard
  • Professionals who work for or join an organisation applying the TOGAF® Standard
  • Individuals who need to start to learn the TOGAF® method
  • Individuals who want to achieve the TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Foundation and Practitioner qualifications in a stepwise manner, or other certifications and certification credentials from The Open Group where this certification is a prerequisite

There are no prerequisites. A prior knowledge of Enterprise Architecture is advantageous but not required.
