If you’re working in project management, the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is a great benchmark on which to build your portfolio of skills. It covers all aspects – ranging from individual assignments to large capital projects. And if you want the ease of learning at your own pace and in your own time, then our new e-learning APM PMQ course is exactly what you need.
The ever-changing and dynamic nature of today’s projects highlights the need for proactive management of people, the project strategy and approach, along with the application of sound commercial and project management techniques. This is an internationally-recognised knowledge-based qualification that enables you to understand the breadth of skills required to successfully manage a project undertaking.
The syllabus is based on the APM Body of Knowledge, which encompasses all areas of project management including strategic and commercial considerations, together with the technical, organisational and people management skills required to participate effectively in project management. We have divided each of the syllabus topics into zones, and the topics covered within each zone are shown below:
Green zone – Getting going
Blue zone – Background
Pink zone – People and projects
Purple zone – Planning
Red zone – Stop and think
Orange zone – Information management and reporting
All elements of the learning will be supported with exam-style questions and sample answers, and exercises that bring out key learning points and reinforce the learning of the core material.
The e-learning provides a detailed explanation of all the required syllabus topics for the PMQ examination. It will take approximately 27-30 hours to complete, and once completed you can attempt the sample examination questions and undertake private study with the APM Body of Knowledge. We recommend that you set some time aside over a period of four to six weeks to complete the work. Please be advised the APM recommends between 70-80 hours preparation for the PMQ examination.
The course is designed for individuals from both the public and private sector. It is for people working in the management of projects, ranging from individual assignments through to those working on large capital or change projects.
