Account Manager - Central Government

Location: hybrid/Bracknell

Account Manager – Central Government – salary circa £75,000 OTE per annum, depending on experience – hybrid/Bracknell

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Account Manager to manage and grow StayAhead Training’s presence across the Civil Service Learning (CSL) contract, working closely with Central Government departments and public sector bodies.

This role is focused on managing established client relationships, handling inbound and proactive training enquiries, and converting demand into booked revenue across public scheduled courses, closed courses and bespoke training programmes.

You will act as the primary point of contact for assigned departments, ensuring a responsive and professional booking experience while identifying opportunities to expand account value through upsell and cross‑sell of StayAhead’s learning solutions. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone confident managing multiple accounts, operating within framework rules, and working closely with internal teams to deliver training programmes successfully.

About You

You are an experienced Account Manager or Sales professional with a strong track record of managing client relationships and converting opportunities into revenue. You are commercially aware, highly organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities at pace.

You will already have experience working with public sector clients or framework‑based contracts. You are detail‑oriented and confident working within established commercial and contractual guidelines.

You communicate clearly and professionally, build trust quickly with clients, and take pride in delivering an excellent service experience from enquiry through to delivery. Experience within learning, training, or professional services is highly desirable.

What will you be doing?

As Account Manager, you will act as the main point of contact for clients purchasing StayAhead training via the Civil Service Learning contract.

You will manage the full sales cycle, handling enquiries, developing proposals, following up opportunities, and converting bookings across:

  • Public scheduled courses
  • Closed / private courses
  • Bespoke training requirements

You will work closely with clients to understand their training needs and budgets, shaping appropriate learning solutions while ensuring all pricing and bookings align with CSL framework rules and commercial guidelines.

Internally, you will collaborate closely with Operations, Delivery and Finance teams to ensure a smooth handover from sale to delivery, accurate invoicing, and high‑quality learner experiences.

You will maintain accurate records of opportunities, bookings and forecasts using Salesforce, report revenue performance to the Sales Director, and ensure strong attention to detail across all client and internal systems.
