FAQs

What is the difference between PMP and PRINCE2®?

PMP and PRINCE2® are both certifications aimed to enhance project management skills and knowledge, but their approaches differ slightly.

Created by the Project Management Institute (PMI), PMP offers a broad spectrum of project management knowledge and skills that are applicable to different types of projects and industries. It is a versatile approach that focuses heavily on practical application.

Alternatively, PRINCE2 is a process-driven project management methodology which provides step-by-step guidance for managing projects from initiation to closure. As such, it is better suited to highly structured environments.

Both entry level and experienced project managers would benefit from a PRINCE2 certification, whereas the PMP course and exam requires a certain level of project management experience.

Is the Project Management Professional certificate worth it?

PMP is a valuable investment for project professionals looking to demonstrate their expertise, enhance their credibility and progress their career.

The knowledge you’ll acquire through this training course will help improve project outcomes, increase efficiency and allow you to manage more complex projects. Plus, adding a PMP certification to your CV will demonstrate your skills to future employers, and may lead to career advancement and increased earning potential.

How long does it take to get PMP certified?

Our PMP e-learning is expected to take between 35 - 40 hours to complete, or if you’d rather learn from one of our expert trainers, our classroom courses require four days of intensive study.

Who is the PMP course suitable for?

PMP is not suitable for entry-level or aspiring project managers. To complete the qualification you need to meet certain educational and professional experience requirements which includes having at least three years experience in the industry.

For those new to the industry, we would recommend starting with the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) qualification.
