Having taken the PRINCE training course in 1989, I felt it was really time to get PRINCE2, so after a lot of looking around I went for the PRINCE2 Gold package.

The package arrived promptly and I got stuck into the PRINCE2 CBT CD-ROM. I really liked the CD-ROM. I appreciated your efforts to be inclusive with your male and female characters and your multi-racial characters. The questions and the practice exams were excellent.

Where it really got good was your trainer Brad. Brad knew the PRINCE2 manual inside out and by page-number (sad really). He was funny, human, knowledgeable and practical.

As a result of this package I passed the Foundation exam with flying colours and I am waiting for the results of the Practitioner.

I received great customer service from day one, from my initial enquiries about the course right the way through to the end of the 3 hour PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam.

The course material arrived quickly, and immediately I could see my purchase was of a high standard.

My approach was to follow the CBT on the CD repeatedly, this really drove the PRINCE2 methodology home and was backed up by clear progress with the Mock Foundation Engine on the CD, initially I scored about 43 out of 75, but at the end I was scoring around the 65 out of 75.

As the exams loomed nearer, I used the practice practitioner exams to great effect to fine tune my knowledge and create a strategy for getting through a 3 hour exam.

I found the PRINCE2 information matrix, supplied with the course to be invaluable, such a simple idea, but in the heat of an exam, great to find the info, past exam question, manual page numbers, etc, you need to answer an exam question.

I passed the PRINCE2 Foundation with nearly 80%, which was great, and to be honest, I'm really quite hopeful that I have passed the PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam. 'Fingers Crossed'

So all in all it was a great purchase, my target was a PRINCE2 Foundation pass as a minimum, which I've achieved, if I pass the PRINCE2 Practitioner too, I'll be really chuffed!..."

Without the training package I would not have achieved anything like the 88% pass mark I got in my exam. I started studying about 4-5 weeks before sitting the exams. In that period I studied for approximately 1-2 hours a day (e.g. an average of 10 hours per week) following ILX Group plc joining instructions and proposed timetable quite literally.

It would be difficult for me to say what item in the Gold Practitioner course pack I found most useful. Both the Courseware and the Student/Exercise Book were very important for my understanding and essential in preparation for the two day workshop and sitting the Foundation exam. However, without the two day workshop at the end of the self-study I doubt I would have passed the Practitioner exam as comfortably..."

I keep a log of time spent on different projects, and if you are interested the total time I spent on PRINCE2 Foundation training was 25 hours (which includes ordering the course, running through the course, revising, 8 practice exams, writing a report on PRINCE2 for my company and the exam itself.) I have just taken my Foundation exam and achieved a pass mark of 93% - and I was confident enough to complete all the answers within a mere 20 minutes. Having studied NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) I am aware that people differ in their learning styles. The multimedia presentation really works. The modular approach to the learning was very helpful as I could dip into the material where and when it suited me. Finally, the examination component of the training was particularly useful. by running through several exams, I was exposed to a large number of questions - and this process highlighted areas on which I was weak. I have personally invested in this course to progress my career after many years of doing the job but never having the time to do a course. I found this to be an excellent way of learning around a hectic lifestyle. I have not taken any formal examinations for many years and was quite apprehensive - However my fears were overcome with this method of learning and I achieved a high pass rate and went to the examination feeling confident.

This way of learning is very helpful particularly if you have areas you find difficult or don't have practical experience of you can recall those areas as many times as necessary. I found that the clear graphics and explanations seem to act as good memory aids.

I would certainly recommend ILX Group plc to anyone wanting to take the PRINCE2 course.

I have now taken ILX Group plc advice in selecting a Practitioners Course, which I will be taking shortly.

I think it would be good if a CD based course was available to help progress from the Foundation level to the Practitioners this certainly is my preferred route to studying.
