Project Management Blended Learning

What is Blended Learning?

Blended Learning is making use of different approaches to learning in order to gain significant benefits when compared to the traditional trainer led approach for a given event.

ILX are unique in the way we deliver our blended learning – we combine our interactive computer based training courses with add on workshops which have proven to significantly increase pass rates and students confidence in the subject matter. 5 or more days out of the office for most people is difficult that is why this solution works extremely well.

The training course delivery is comprised of different style sessions. The basics or fundamental principles of any subject must be clearly understood to enable delegates to apply the concepts later.

The initial part of the learning process is achieved by using a computer based approach with interactive CD-Rom. Each delegate is able to progress at his/her own pace on an individual basis, repeat sessions for a better understanding, and, when ready, practice sample examination questions until proficient.

This initial phase of any training programme can also be run by an experienced trainer as a facilitated workshop using the CD-Rom in a classroom situation. This approach provides an exciting environment light years ahead of the familiar power-point slides presentations usually associated with typical training events. Such presentations are often dull, uninteresting with slides containing too many words.

The second part of the learning process is tutor led in a short but effective workshop. This enables delegates to consolidate their understanding of the fundamental principles of the subject by applying their newly learnt knowledge to real world scenarios. Delegates practice their new skills in a safe environment. They quickly learn to apply them with competence and confidence in readiness for immediate take-on when they return to the workplace.

Our experienced trainers act as on-line tutors during the first phase of the learning so that delegates have a name to contact if experiencing any difficulty. They also facilitate the workshops and bring them to life with their in-depth experience and enthusiasm.

Feedback from organisations already using our ‘Blended Learning Approach’ suggests the following benefits:-

  • choice of delivery methods per training event
  • higher knowledge retention for delegates
  • comfortable learning environment
  • on-line reference material via CD-Rom after training
  • saves time with less tutor led training per event
  • shared responsibility between the delegate and organisation
  • solid and consistent message of the fundamentals from the CD-Rom
  • stimulating presentation of material using graphics, audio and movement
  • consistent pass rates for accredited examinations well above national average

We offer blended learning solutions in the following subject areas:-
