ILX Group offers MSP® 2011
- ILX Group releases updated course content following MSP refresh by the Cabinet Office -
ILX Group today announced that it is offering the updated Managing Successful Programmes course content. MSP is internationally considered to be industry Best Practice for the Management of Programmes of business change and has been in use since 1999.
The changes have been prompted by an update from the Cabinet Office and the revised methodology will now be known as Managing Successful Programmes 2011 edition. MSP was last updated in 2007 and this latest modification reflects changes and improvements that have been suggested by the Practitioner Community. The 2011 update has taken 18 months to complete and has been through four rigorous reviews to ensure its accuracy.
The changes apply to all levels of MSP training namely: Foundation, Practitioner, Advanced Practitioner and Re-Registration. Currently, candidates can choose to take exams based on either the 2007 or the updated 2011 version of the manual. From March 3rd 2012, candidates will only be able to take exams based on the 2011 edition.
Eddie Kilkelly, Chief Operating Officer at ILX, commented:
Updates to methodologies, like MSP, are essential to ensure that they remain relevant and applicable particularly given the rate of change in business today. As with numerous updates in the past, we have robust processes and procedures in place to ensure these changes are incorporated into our training materials as soon and seamlessly as possible."
While there are no formal pre-requisites for undertaking this training an understanding of project management using a structured method such as PRINCE2 would be an advantage.
This training is specifically intended for anyone involved in Programme Management roles, including:
- Newly appointed Programme Managers who may have a background in managing projects but have not previously operated in a transformational change environment
- Senior Managers who will 'sponsor' the change, or perhaps be held accountable for its success
- Operational Managers charged with embedding the change in their area
- Operational staff undertaking a role in the programme or related projects
- Programme office staff (PMO) wishing to build upon their project management knowledge
- Experienced Project Managers
- Those seeking a professional qualification in programme management
