ILX’s International Division Recognised At Prestigious Business Awards Ceremony
ILX Group plc’s (ILX) International division were commended for their recent success overseas at the South Cheshire Chamber Business Awards this weekend, after scooping the coveted Exporter of the Year award. The annual event – now in its 14th year – is hosted annually by the teams head office’s local Chamber of Commerce and recognises the success and achievements of businesses in the area.
ILX took home the 2010 Exporter of the Year accolade, sponsored by South Cheshire Chamber International Trade, after beating off stiff competition from four other finalists – from companies as diverse as an online hydraulics solutions business, to a global stadium and event management trainer, whose work overseas included the FIFA World Cup 2010.
As the world’s leading provider of training and consultancy in programme and project management, IT (ITIL) service management and business finance, ILX Group impressed the award judges with their revenue projections for outside of the UK growing to over £3 million by the end of 2010. The judges also commended the team’s approach when moving to new territories abroad.
Paul Wilcox, International Trade Advisor for the UKTI North West International Trade Team, presented the award. During his speech to the team he said:
With local offices now in the UK, Middle East, South Africa, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand and the USA, and course materials translated into Dutch and Danish, the award judges were impressed with the scope of ILX’s international reach. ILX has run over 30 successful PRINCE2 and ITIL seminars for its customers so far this year world-wide, and has secured contracts with several prestigious organisations globally.
These include:
- The Ministry of Defence in Oman – providing classroom training solutions across the portfolio of ILX’s products, including PRINCE2 and ITIL training.
- Vestas - the international wind turbine country based in Denmark – providing training to 1000’s of their staff in both PRINCE2 and MSP e-learning courses.
- Temenos - the world's leading supplier of packaged banking software - who contracted ILX to provide PRINCE2 e-learning for their Indian division via the ILX training Portals. ILX’s technology now means that an online ‘learning zone’ can be set up specifically for a customer, allowing them to train an unlimited amount of staff under licence.
- New Zealand Ministry of Transport – providing ongoing PRINCE2 training to their staff through ILX e-learning .
Having a local presence in these countries was a significant factor in winning these important contracts, and recognising the importance of country offices to their customers was key to ILX winning the Chamber’s 2010 Exporter of the Year award.
Martyn Kinch, Senior Vice-President of ILX Group International commented:
"Despite the International division being originally created just four years ago in 2006, we now have 14 staff members on the team, based across the ILX global offices. This support network means that we can now provide a personalised service to our customers, and are best-placed to recognize the individual training requirements of each country area."
"With our aim to grow the international side of the business over the coming years, we’re now focusing our efforts on creating a localised presence in all of our busiest countries, allowing the overseas team to take full advantage of the market demand in each area. Our Australasian offices are one such success story, and we hope to replicate those achievements with the new Danish headquarters we opened in September."
