Risk Management
The Management of Risk guidance is intended to help organisations put in place effective frameworks for taking informed decisions about risk. The guidance provides a route map for risk management, bringing together recommended approaches, checklists and pointers to more detailed sources of advice on tools and techniques.
Every organisation manages risk, but not in a way that is visible, repeatable and consistently applied to support decision making. The task of management of risk is to ensure that the organisation makes cost effective use of a risk process that has a series of well defined steps.
The objectives, or goals of the programme are typically at a strategic level so that the organisation can achieve benefits and improvements in its business operation.
