Meet the Experts
CTG has one of the largest and most experienced trainer faculties in our field. We draw upon full time, dedicated finance professionals who specialise in training. Our overriding philosophy is that for training to be effective it needs to be relevant and enjoyable. However, such an approach must be backed up by the necessary expertise. All our tutors have extensive market experience as well as excellent technical understanding.
CTG has:

Peter Evans BA PhD ACD
Peter obtained his PhD from the LSE in 1985 and qualified as a chartered accountant with Moore Stephens.
There he specialised in the investment banking sector spending several periods on secondment.
He has worked with numerous global investment banks (research and corporate advisory) and multinational corporates (including Technology, Retail and Energy sectors) developing and delivering specialist training programmes with a focus on equity valuation and shareholder wealth creation.
Peter Scollen BA ACCA
Peter’s wide range of experience – he has worked in a colliery, served in the RAF, and qualified as an accountant in industry – has produced a tutor whose communication skills are unrivalled. Coupled with a deep technical understanding of complex subjects, he has become a much sought after lead tutor for many of our worldwide programmes.
Peter has taught over 1000 staff at Credit Suisse alone through the ground breaking Credit Suisse Business Awareness programme, which he helped to develop. His specialisms include derivatives, fixed income and debt.
Innes Wright BSc FCA
Innes was responsible for introducing and developing the financial modelling product within CTG.
He remains one of our leading and most innovative modelling experts.
Additionally, Innes teaches accounting and analysis, credit analysis and valuation. He has travelled around the world to deliver his highly acclaimed programmes for clients.
Prior to working in training and consulting, Innes graduated from St Andrews and then went on to qualify as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in London.
Pat Eckersall BCom FCA
After graduating from Liverpool Pat qualified as an ACA with Andersen. She specialised in auditing and advising manufacturing and retail companies. She then joined a London-based training company where she was head of the Audit and Financial Reporting team.
Pat was a founding member of CTG. She is acknowledged as one of the leading experts on financial reporting and international accounting where her programmes are acknowledged for their unparalleled clarity and professionalism.
David Mignano BA ACA
David’s specialisms include tax, accounting, credit analysis and financial modelling. His huge experience in delivering programmes to a wide spectrum of audiences has given him a remarkable ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and understandable way.
David graduated with an economics degree from Manchester University and qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG. He was one of the founding members of CTG in 1994.
Geoff Robinson BA ACA
Geoff graduated in Economics from Durham and then qualified as an ACA with PwC. He is one of CTG’s leading financial modellers and has an industry wide reputation for his knowledge and expertise in this important field. His enthusiasm and personable nature are instrumental in making his programmes interesting and effective.
In addition to building bespoke suites of models for clients, Geoff is CTG’s leading author of technical manuals.
Mark Woolhouse BA Hons. (Oxon)
Mark entered banking by training with JPMorgan in New York and has subsequently worked as a sovereign lending and corporate credit analyst and loan portfolio manager.
He gained further experience in international project finance and responsibility for a range of markets and instruments including syndicated loans, structured financing, asset backed and high yield bond.
At CTG, Mark specialises in project finance, capital markets, financial modelling and credit analysis.
Alice Mitchell BSc ACA
Alice holds a biochemistry degree from University College London and qualified as a chartered accountant with the forerunner of KPMG.
Her specialisms within CTG include tax, accounting and analysis and financial modelling. Alice’s friendly approach endears her to all her students who value her excellent teaching skills as well as her technical expertise.
Alice has worked with all of our major clients, including induction programmes at Citigroup, HSBC and Rothschild as well as more specialist work such as tax accounting for M&A transactions.
Dearbhail Lang M Eng Sc (Hons)
Dearbhail qualified from University College Dublin with a masters in mechanical engineering. Soon after she started her career in finance as part of the Investment Banking Global Communications team at Merrill Lynch.
Dearbhail has been preparing and delivering financial training to top tier investment banks globally for a number of years.
She specialises in fixed income, derivatives and equity products and markets and financial modelling.
Rob Woods BSc
Rob graduated from Newcastle University with a BSc in computer science before joining the global company Cargill plc and qualifying as an accountant.
He is well known for his informative, participative and fun courses across a broad range of subjects. He has travelled extensively during his training career with particular emphasis on New York, the Channel Islands and Eastern Europe.
Rob’s current training portfolio includes financial regulation and legislation, financial analysis, capital markets, portfolio theory, performance attribution accounting and derivatives.
Christiana Sembi BSc ACA
After graduating in mathematics and statistics from Brunel University, Christiana joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and qualified as a chartered accountant. She spent two of her four years with PwC in London and two in Philadelphia, specialising in consumer and industrial products and services.
Following her time as a practising accountant, Christiana began her career in financial training preparing candidates for professional exams, specialising in business finance.
Her specialisms within CTG include business finance and financial products.
Gaggan Dhaliwal BSc (Hons)
After graduating with a physics degree, Gaggan trained as a sell side investment analyst specialising in companies in the leisure sector. This provided her with an in-depth knowledge of modelling and valuation techniques.
Gaggan moved on to work for an Event Driven hedge fund. In her five years, she gained investment experience across different asset classes as well as the practicalities of regulation and documentation.
With CTG, Gaggan teaches valuation and modelling as well as product training for equities, fixed income, derivatives and credit.
Meabh de Frinse MA ACA
Meabh graduated in mathematics from Oxford University. She qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte, specialising in banking and capital markets and in particular corporate tax within this sector, working extensively with Japanese banking clients.
During this period Meabh also contributed valuable project work on transfer pricing issues within global banks.
She has considerable teaching experience in accountancy and her specialisms within CTG include accounting, financial statement analysis, business valuation and financial products.
Martin Mitchell ACA FSI
Martin qualified with one of the “big four” firms of accountants and after a period of practice progressed to running the financial markets division of one of the leading financial training companies in the UK.
Martin has been instrumental in the growth of e-learning in the sphere of financial training and has also headed up the Securities & Investment Institute’s training and publications divisions.
He continues to train regularly for clients in London and New York. As well as training, Martin’s role in CTG includes developing our i-learning product and our expansion of non classroom based activities.
Neil Schofield BSc MBA
Neil was until 2008, head of Financial Markets training at Barclays Capital. He has also held positions with Chase Manhattan, Security Pacific Hoare Govett and Lloyds TSB and conducted training seminars at the Bank of England and the USA Federal Reserve.
Neil holds a BSc in Economics and an MBA from Manchester Business School. He is a Fellow of the IFS School of Finance and a Visiting Fellow of the University of Reading. Neil is author of the book 'Commodity Derivatives' published by Wiley.
He trains primarily on the rates business covering all of the major asset classes and their respective derivative products from foreign exchange through to commodities.
Helen Bancroft BSc ACA
Helen graduated from Newcastle University in 1999 and went on to qualify as a chartered accountant with BDO Stoy Hayward. Helen specialised in leading audits of high profile clients in the retail and commodity trading sectors.
After time spent in BDO Stoy Hayward’s internal training department, she moved into full time tuition and has spent a number of years training delegates from professional service firms across a wide spectrum of subjects including taxation and corporate restructuring.
At CTG Helen delivers a wide range of programmes in the areas of accounting, valuation and financial modelling.
Rob Morgan BCom
Rob has a background in structural engineering and he also holds a Commerce and Business degree. Rob worked for a number of years for a large Australian property group as a part of the finance team where of his specialisms was project finance; he was involved with the financing and structuring of the group's large capital projects.
Rob has extensive City teaching experience. He has trained delegates towards ACA and other financial markets qualifications and has produced several bespoke finance courses for investment banks and private equity groups. At CTG Rob specialises in products and the capital markets.
Dave Marlow BA (Oxon) ACA
Dave has a wealth of experience training city professionals in all areas of accounting and financial analysis. After an interesting but brief career as an offshore oilfield engineer, Dave qualified as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He then joined the PwC technical accounting team, responsible for resolving accounting queries, and training the rest of the firm in accounting developments. Post PwC, Dave has been working in the city, developing, designing and delivering finance related training programmes for bankers, lawyers and accountants. Dave covers all areas of financial accounting and analysis, from basic first principles through to accounting for complex off balance sheet arrangements and derivatives, under IFRS, US and UK GAAP.
