Our Approach to Training

Participation and enjoyment – the keys to learning

In our experience, effective training is varied training. We challenge delegates through the use of practical work with great emphasis placed upon:

  • Case studies and exercises – contemporary, meaningful, practical, realistic, relevant, slow-burn and speedy resolution

We find particularly effective the use of continuous development case studies through which delegates can explore many aspects of the training programme by continually returning to the same central themes. Not only do delegates gain a high sense of achievement from exploring key ideas in detail, they also gain a true insight into how a subject translates to real situations in the workplace.

Ongoing support comes in the form of:

  • Pre-course testing and assessment
  • Extra tuition for high and low achievers
  • Up-to-date, relevant and tailored materials – both hard copy and electronic
  • Extensive post course reviews, including marked assignments where relevant
  • Email and telephone helplines

Before and After Care

Although the training event is central to the process, there is a clear need for efficient logistics and support before and after the training.

We will fulfil all your expectations in this regard. In addition, we offer specific support…

For training managers -

We will do whatever you require and more, whether it is organising pre-course delegate selection and assessment, working on delivery with in-house co-presenters or full post-course reviews on individual delegates. Some clients even have CTG staff embedded within their training departments to ensure seamless liaison and priority booking for large, company-wide programmes.

For your department -

If you are organising training for your own department, you may want to make use of our experience in assessing training needs. As well as designing programmes and tailoring case studies we can ensure that you and your colleagues benefit from the leading-edge developments in your field. We are also able to help you make your business case for the training by demonstrating the benefits that other organisations have derived from similar training programmes.
