By understanding where the current knowledge gaps are, the organisation can:

• Modify the training content of a forthcoming classroom event by understanding the general level of awareness amongst that group
• Provide individuals or layers of management with an understanding that their level of financial acumen is not at a sufficient level
• Provide itself with an indication of the current level of financial competence throughout the firm. This indication can then be used to decide priorities and actions for each area of the business.
• Offer a training resource for the individual managers to, at their own pace and in private, enhance their basic financial competence. This process can begin as pre-course to the strategic level classroom based program and can continue as post course supplementary training and revision.
