Course Overview
Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) is a principles, governance themes and process based approach founded on Best Practice for use when managing a programme.
Programmes are more than just the 'sum of their parts', in other words they need to 'add value' over their constituent projects. This leads to the inevitable conclusion that such a major 'transformational' change needs something over and above standard project management in order to make such a major change 'stick', and thereby realise benefits which are of strategic importance to the organisation.
This course is aimed at any organisation or individual seeking to understand and adopt a controlled approach to running and controlling its programmes.
Course Content
The course includes, but is not limited to:
- Programme management introduction
- Determining if a change warrants a programme approach and whether it is worth doing
- Establishing the programme
- Transformational flow processes
- Governance themes
- Benefits management
- Leadership & stakeholder engagement
- Programme assurance reviews & audit
Duration
This is an intensive five day course, which includes the MSP Foundation and Practitioner examinations.
Accreditation
Foundation
- Multiple choice format
- 5 questions to be trial and not counted in score
- 70 questions per paper
- 35 marks required to pass - 50%
- 60 minutes duration
- Closed book.
Practitioner
- Objective testing format
- 8 questions per paper, with 80 marks available in total
- 150 minutes duration
- 80 marks available, 40+ marks needed to pass - 50%
- Open book paper (MSP guide only).
